Hauora and student well-being
At Mayfair School, we prioritise the hauora (well-being) of our students by incorporating a range of strategies and programmes. We use Mauri Tau strategies, such as breathing exercises, to help students find calm and balance in their daily lives.
Our approach also includes Positive Behaviour for Learning (PB4L), which supports positive behaviour and enhances student engagement. We utilise the Zones of Regulation to help students understand and manage their emotions effectively.
The Window of Tolerance framework guides us in supporting students to stay regulated and focused, while the Incredible Years programme provides valuable skills for social and emotional development.
By integrating these strategies, we create a supportive environment where our tamariki can thrive both academically and personally. Join us at Mayfair School, where student hauora is at the heart of everything we do!
